Business Foundations Certificate
The Business Foundations Certificate offers fast-paced, application-oriented instruction in fundamental business knowledge. A concentrated 21-hour program covers the foundations of business knowledge and is specially designed for the student with work and family commitments.

The Business Foundations Certificate Program
Kelley School of Business is pleased to offer students an opportunity to acquire basic business knowledge and skills with an option to study at home or online. Our Business Foundations Certificate may be earned entirely online with careful planning. All of the business courses except K201, M226, and X204 are offered on cable TV supplemented by online instruction, and the economics courses and electives may be taken via distance education on a regular basis. This certificate may be earned as a stand alone credential or may be combined with an associate's or bachelor's degree in another area. Please consult the Schedule of Classes for specific course-related information.
Students who began taking courses for the Business Foundations Certificate before Fall 2006 should see these requirements.
General Requirements:
- Admitted as a student at IUPUI.
- Completion of 15 credit hours of certificate courses on the IUPUI campus.
- Minimum grade point average of 2.0 in required courses.
- Minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.0.
- Must submit notification of completion at the beginning of their final semester of certificate coursework.
- Prerequisites are required for some courses.
- With the exception of BUS-K 201, BUS-X 204, and BUS-M 226; the courses below may not be used toward a business minor or a business bachelor degree.
- More advanced courses from the business minor or the business bachelor degree may be substituted for the certificate courses.
- At least 3 of the required courses have one or more class meetings or exams on campus. Please check the course syllabus for these dates.
